Contact Lens Exams
Contact lenses are a great option especially for playing sports or for occasions where your glasses may get fogged up or dirty. They are very safe as long as they are fit by an eye doctor and you follow our instructions.
Are contact lenses an option for me?
Technology has come a long way and we are now able to fit almost anyone with a soft contact lens whether you have a high prescription, astigmatism, require a distance and near prescription, or a combination of these!
The health of your eyes is our #1 priority. Because contact lens wearers are at a higher risk of complications:
- It’s important to have an optometrist examine your eyes. We do an annual comprehensive eye exam on all patients who are interested in wearing contact lenses and who currently wear contact lenses
- if you have never worn contact lenses before, we do a contact lens training
- if you’d like to try a new brand of contact lenses, we do a contact lens fitting
Contact Lens Training
If you’ve never worn contact lenses before, we teach you how to put them in and take them out so that you learn the correct way of doing it. In addition, we teach you how to take care of your contact lenses to minimize the risk of complications.
Contact Lens Fitting
Whether you are new to contact lenses or you want to try a different brand, it is important to always have an optometrist do a contact lens fitting first. Every contact lens fits differently because every brand is a different material and is made in different sizes. If the lenses do not fit properly, vision-threatening complications can result. For this reason, even if you would just like to order more of the contacts you already wear, we will still double-check the fit if you are a new patient to our eye clinic.
When you come in for a fitting, we will recommend the best contact lens based on your needs and lifestyle. After we ensure the lenses fit your eyes properly, we give you trials to take home so that you can make sure you’re happy with the vision and comfort before purchasing the lenses.
Guaranteed Contact Lens Success Program
If you are unhappy with contact lenses purchased from us for any reason, you may return your unopened boxes for a complete refund or credit within 90 days of your contact lens fitting.
LASIK, Refractive Surgery, and Orthokeratology
Are there other ways to correct my vision besides wearing glasses and contact lenses?
Yes! There are a number of refractive surgery options (including laser eye surgery) in addition to orthokeratology. If you’re interested, ask us, and we’ll be happy to discuss your options.
